Winter Day Remedies and Bright Crochet

Hi Everyone!

Art has taken a back seat recently, as I was commissioned by my daughter to make a bright and lightweight top for her gap year travels. I adapted a pattern, using a more open and lacy stitch, so that it wouldn't be too heavy in her rucksack. It's basically 4 rectangles stitched together, leaving openings for arms and head, then a border added. She loves it!

So today I got out my paint, found a magazine image, empty teabag, and an old book page, and created a page in my art journal for Chris' challenge over at Art Journal Journey, '101 Ways To Keep Warm'. I should have written Winter Day Remedy, but too late now!

Wishing you all a warm and happy Sunday!

  2. What is it about magazine images that makes me smile? The fact that they are really my go to staple when it comes to art journaling and altered books. Your combining the tea bags with a stencil and chair focal image was truly special.

I was especially impressed with the composition and the colors you chose to compliment the monochromatic chair and tea bags. This is a fabulous AJJ entry.

BTW, I was quite thrilled to read your comment on my Bonfire Night post. I KNEW someone would bring up Robert Catesby when I wrote the post. I didn't want to stray too afield, or I would have needed to explain more of the plot than I actually felt necessary for my American and international readers. Thanks for pointing out he was the actual leader of the rebellion, but Fawkes was the one who was caught and captured.
